The ribs of the brewer influence how the water flows. The ribs at the bottom have been removed so that the water does not drip through immediately. This allows for a longer contact time of the water with the coffee. This coupled with Kasuya’s “4:6 method” recipe will make a clearer cup with more pronounced flavors.
